Description: There are many children in Sri Lanka, who have been displaced, abandoned, and abused. In order to provide a brighter future to these disadvantaged, innocent children, our local partner organizations in Sri Lanka have been running many orphanages for quite some time, with each orphanage housing approximately 15 children between the ages of 4 and 10.

If you want to leave a positive mark in one corner of the world by touching the lives of homeless children, volunteering in a Sri Lankan orphanage is an excellent opportunity for you where you can spend your invaluable quality time living with the orphan children as a part of their family members. Not only do these unfortunate children need love, care and attention, but the poorly-understaffed orphanage centers need the helping hands of volunteers as well.

Highlights: The job responsibilities of the orphanage volunteers in Sri Lanka depend on the need of the orphanage as well as the skills and interests of the volunteers. However, the volunteers will be involved in the following tasks:

    * Teaching basic conversational English
    * Cleaning the premises as well as cooking and serving food to the children
    * Developing creative programs such as dance, arts, music, and other physical activities
    * Helping the children with various health and sanitation needs
    * Engaging in extra-curricular activites designed for orphan kids
