Durations of Program: 1-2 weeks and 2-4 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 1-2 weeks

Description: Based in the beautiful area of Praia do Forte in Brazil, this project gives volunteers an opportunity to get involved in the long term conservation of the humpback whales. With the option to join for 2 or 3 weeks, you will spend much of your time out on the sea (weather permitting) where you will be observing whales, collecting data on their behaviour, bio-acoustic monitoring and developing the picture identification library. Volunteers also assist in the fields of environmental education and office based administrative tasks, including the entering of new data. This is a great opportunity for people with a desire to work in marine / cetacean conservation.
