Dates: Visit our website for upcoming start dates.
Description:
Combine volunteer work and Spanish lessons in the cobble-street town of Copan Ruinas in Honduras. Volunteer work is available at indigenous communities in nearby rural mountain areas. GVI, along with leaders of the indigenous communities, are developing educational programmes to assist children and adults who otherwise would not have the opportunity of any formal education or who need educational reinforcement. 40 hours of intensive Spanish classes are included in the programme, as well as a day trip to the Copan Ruins with a guide, separate horse riding and hiking treks in the surrounding hills, and a visit to local hot springs.
Highlights:
Make a difference to the lives of some of Honduras's poorest people, learn Spanish and gain excellent teaching experience. The project fee includes all food and accommodation, training, daily fruit for the children, a 1-year scholarship for a child, and USD 100 to be allocated as you choose. A variety of cultural excursions and activities including hikes and tours of Mayan ruins, give you the opportunity to enjoy what the country has to offer.
Qualifications:
No skills are required as full training is provided and the necessary basic Spanish will be obtained in the classes.
