Durations of Program: 9-12 weeks and 3-6 months
Typical Duration of Program: 9-12 weeks

Description: If you would like to learn Indonesian language very effectively, this is the way. You will be given a class training and opportunity to practice with local people by offering your help in improving their living condition. This is done by several methods including making a group discussion with them, consulting, motivating families as well as individuals to improve their living condition. Motivating may be done by giving them advice on how to work together in improving the community health. Or even by helping them, for example, in painting their bamboo fence or wall. This will give the Indonesian language learner the opportunity to practice their bahasa Indonesia beside attending a class in the morning or in the afternoon.

Highlights: The number of participants in a class is flexible. A class will be started even for only one participant so that every participant may start right away without the need to wait for other participants.

Classes take part three days weekly. Out side class activities may be free or programmed activities. With free activities, participants may freely plan activities where he/she can meet and talk with people in bahasa Indonesia. By programmed activities, the participants will be given an assignment to meet local people through discussion groups, consulting local people or help local people in improving their house or living condition.

The activities will give the participants the real live experience in practicing their bahasa Indonesia, which experience will be brought to the class for improvement. It will at the same time give the participants to get very close to the local people and to know closely their situation and way of live.
