Durations of Program: 3-6 months and 7-12 months
Typical Duration of Program: 3-6 months

Description:
Touch the Lives of Children! You´ll never forget the faces of the children you teach. Volunteer teachers spend 5 months-1 year teaching Extracurricular activities. Located in the seaside city of Viña del Mar in central Chile, One World Nursery School is a small family-run pre-school serving Chilean children ages 2-6. At One World Nursery School, Volunteer teachers lead extracurricular activities such as Ceramics, Painting, Crafts, Gym, Dance and Music. The school provides volunteers with comfortable accomodations, Spanish classes 3 times a week, and partial board. Don't miss this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children!
Highlights:
One of the highlights of One World is the work atmosphere present at this school. Besides the autonomy with which our teachers develop the curriculum, the support staff of Volunteers who teach extracurricular activities (ceramics, drawing, music, piano, tennis, ballet and gymnastics) provide for an atmosphere of collaboration and mutual support. We are currently interviewing for one Paid/Part-time position, and two Volunteer teaching positions, both of which allow ample time to be immersed in the Chilean culture. The geographical placement of the school is ideal for teachers who wish to travel over long weekends, and school breaks. Volunteer teachers dedicate half of their week to the school assisting the head teacher and leading extracurricular activities. Volunteers receive comfortable accomodations and partial board. Paid teachers dedicate mornings or afternoons to their students at the school and are renumerated decently by local standards. Money however should not be a motivating factor for potential applicants. The riches teachers take home live in their hearts much longer than in their pocketbooks! Both volunteers and paid teachers receive Spanish classes three times a week with a native Spanish speaker.

All successful candidates should have previous experience working with small children, demonstrate flexibility and tolerance of different learning styles, committment to community, and interest in promoting intercultural exchange.
